Saurabh Chaudhary

Saurabh is the founder and lead yoga teacher at Akshara Yoga School. Born and brought up in rural India in the owner-cultivator tradition, qualities of simplicity, patience and generosity marked his character.

He has received his yoga education and training from the leading institutes of yoga in India.After graduating from University of Delhi, he earned his Master of Science (Yoga) from Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana (SYVASA) University, Bengaluru. He is also a Diploma holder in Yoga Studies from Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), New Delhi. His academic interest led him to pursue Master’s in Business Administration also.

Saurabh has deep empirical as well as philosophical understanding of the Yoga system. He is fortunate to have received his yoga education under the finest brains, who have brought laurels to the nation through their cutting-edge contribution in the field of yoga. Dr H.R. Nagendra of SVYASA University, Bengaluru and Dr. I.V. Basavaraddi of MDNIY, New Delhi has been instrumental in shaping his personality. Under the tutelage of such leading personalities in the field of yoga, Saurabh has been able to gain command over the secular as well as metaphysical domain of yoga and spirituality. He has full command over ancient Yoga scriptures like Patanjali Yogasutra, Bhagavad Gita, Major Upanishad and Hatha Yoga Pradipika.

He has extensive yoga teaching experience with hands-on proficiency in yoga application. He has been trained in the therapeutic application of yoga by working on live cases of non-communicable diseases. Towards the completion of his Master’s Degree in Yoga, he conducted an experimental research on the efficacy of yoga in physiological stress in working executives of corporate sector.

He has also received training in Aṣṭāṅga Vinyasā under Yogacharya Ramesh Sheety. He is a member of Indian Yoga Association and a registered yoga teacher from Quality Council of India and E-RYT 200 from Yoga Alliance, USA. In 2017 he qualified the National Eligibility Test for the post of Assistant Professor in Yoga.

His passion for real spirituality and yearning for real transformation has bestowed him with the openness of wisdom and inner strength to explore the spiritual traditions that are foreign to one’s practice and culture. As a result he mastered not only the orthodox but also the unorthodox schools of Indian philosophy, with special interest in Boudha Darshan.He trained himself in Vipassana meditation, one of the oldest and less known paths belonging to the unorthodox school under the aegis of S.N. Goenka.

Varvara Marinatou

Varvara is the co-founder and teacher at Akshara Yoga school. During her childhood, along with her education, she used to participate in a team of aquatics in Greece from where she hails. She had participated in several swimming competitions, and had secured 3 gold medals in 50 meters freestyle.

Before her college, she had excelled in two languages (French and English) and later on she was authorized by the Greek government as a tutor. After two years in college pursuing advertisement she understood that this field doesn’t reflect her personality and thus focused on teaching English to children. She had also worked in the tourism industry, in the customer care service where she had to deal with an average of 100 people per day with great success because of her good skill in communication and her deep empathy.

“The autobiography of a Yogi” by Swami Paramahansa Yogananda was the book that inspired her to start her yoga journey at the end of 2009, when Yoga was not so much popular in Greece.The unique self-transformation that Yoga gifted her, led her 4 years later to undertake the first Hatha Yoga teacher training course in Greece, under the guidance of Andreas Provelleggios. Andreas Provelleggios is one of the most senior teachers in Greece, he was one of the founders of Hellenic Yoga Association and a former president of the Yoga Association. After finishing that course, she was selected as an assistant teacher for the next batch, next to the leader teachers Tina Myntzzymarakis and Chrysi Bambali (very well known and respected teachers in Greece).

Her passion and yearning for yoga and spirituality made her to visit India for the first time in 2015. She visited Mysore, where she was trained in Ashtanga Yoga, under the guidance of the yogacharya Ramesh Shetty, disciple of Shri BKS Iyengar, and Praveen Somu, disciple of K.Pattabhi Jois. In Mysore she met Saurabh Chaudhary and together they developed the vision of establishing a Yoga School. Next year she visited India, where she got trained in traditional Hatha Yoga and Indian Philosophy under the guidance of Saurabh Chaudhary, whom now she considers as her Guru. Since then they conduct together yoga teacher training courses. She has studied traditional yoga scriptures and texts like Bhagavadgita and Hatha Yoga Pradipika.

Varvara believes that knowledge is endless, and the ultimate tool by which ignorance can be removed. That is why she keeps herself abreast with the latest trends and developments in the field of yoga. She has participated in many workshops in anatomy and physiology, under the guidance of physiotherapists which are specialized in athletes’ traumas. She is trained in yoga for seniors and yoga for orthopedic diseases under the guidance of physiotherapists and orthopedic doctors. She has attended the workshops in prenatal yoga by qualified midwife and yoga teachers. She has been trained in vinyasa yoga in Rishikesh India, and she is also a certified aerial yoga teacher trained by Tanya Popovich. She has been introduced in Vipassana meditation, in the Dhamma Suddha institute of India under the tradition of acharya S. N. Goenka. Since 2018 she is an Ayurveda student of International Academy of Ayurveda.

Varvara is an E-RYT 500 from Yoga Alliance, USA. She is member of the IYTA (International Yoga Association) and member of HYA (Hellenic Yoga Association). She offers yoga classes to senior people in a care center of seniors in Greece as a Karma Yoga.

She strongly believes that in every student there is a potential teacher that has not been manifested yet.

Her desire is to live a peaceful life free from any kind of dogma.

Gaurav Chaudhary

Gaurav earned his Masters in Economics from Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi.His passion for agriculture took him to his roots where he entered into Sustainable Agriculture, Agricultural Consultancy and Dairy farming. Today he is a thriving entrepreneur in sustainable Agriculture at Chaudharyfarms®, location of Akshara Yoga School. His forte lies in providing the school with school-based, quality-focused and esthetically build sustainable infrastructure.

His farming operation is based on Circular Systems approach: Crop – Livestock – Tree integrations. His sustainable agriculture work also focuses on grass based dairy farming,less/zero tillage in wheat, Direct seeding in paddy, organic farming, soil regeneration and crop residue utilization.

His expertise in agriculture is a valuable support to Akshara Yoga School located at the family farm. The idyllic natural environment preserved in the school and the production and serving of nutritious organic food add to the overall living and learning experience of students. This sustainable approach supports our Yoga School with clean air, water, organic food and farm fresh milk.

He is also entrusted with the school administration, dealing with the operations and management of resources in an effective manner towards improvement in teaching standards,learning environment and overall experience of students.

He is an admirer of Indian Philosophy out of its scientific orientation and practical value in life. He practices Yoga for his personal wellbeing.
