📖 “Education is concentration” - Swami Vivekananda More than a century ago when Swami Vivekananda defines education as concentration, counterintuitively he was not praising modern education but pointing out its limitations. ⚠️This was my theme for today’s introductory session on yoga on the invitation from local school to talk about relevance of yoga in students’👩🏻‍🎓life. The whole education system is geared to bring about concentration ( thoughts in logical connection) which is no doubt necessary for achieving results. But this capacity to concentrate and focus is only ☝️one aspect of mind. Equally important is the ✌️second aspect of calming down of the mind. This second aspect of silencing the mind is no where taught in any of the schools.
